CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History (WVDACH) presented $465,460 in development grant funds for 21 projects involving the restoration and rehabilitation of historic sites listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) of the WVDACH administers the development grant program. A list of grant recipients is attached.
A review panel appointed by the SHPO developed recommendations for grant funding for the Archives and History Commission, which made the final grant determinations. Funding for the grants program comes from the appropriation of funds from the West Virginia Legislature.
