CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History in partnership with the Office of Emergency Services and the National Park Service will be holding Disaster Preparedness Workshops for Certified Local Governments, city and county governments and interested individuals, April 12-14. The dates and locations for the workshops are listed below:

  • Wednesday, April 12, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Canaan Valley Resort, Davis, W.Va.
  • Thursday, April 13, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jackson’s Mill 4-H Camp, Weston, W.Va.
  • Friday, April 14, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Beckley City Hall, Beckley, W.Va.

Workshop participants will learn about planning for a disaster, connecting with local and state emergency staff, SHPO Survey and Inventory Program and preparing your community and how to respond, among other topics.
