CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History will host the 11th annual A. James Manchin Marble Tournament at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Culture Center, State Capitol Complex in Charleston. The free tournament is open to children from 7 to 14 years of age and all skill levels.

Interested participants may register at the Culture Center from noon until 12:30 p.m. that day. A practice session and chance to learn tips about playing marbles will begin at 12:30 p.m. and lasts until the tournament commences at 1:30 p.m. Tournament marbles will be provided.

The tournament’s marble game, Ringer, is played by placing 13 marbles in the form of an “X” in a 10-foot circle with players alternating shots. National contest rules will apply in the competition and can be found by visiting the website, www.nationalmarblestournament.org
