Appalachian Chamber Music Festival brings its 5th season to a close with the popular Winter Residency featuring music from your favorite composers, some new works to spark your curiosity, all connected together with holiday classics to give sparkle to the march towards 2026.
This winter, your ACMF musicians will include violinists, Rachelle Hunt and Chris Jusell, violist Danielle Wiebe-Burke, our Artistic Director and cellist Katie Tertell and bassist Sam Suggs. Performing in our December 30th performance is pianist Ellen Hwangbo, joining ACMF for the second time. Four special venues host our performances: Shepherdstown’s intimate and charismatic Train Station and the historic War Memorial Building, Charles Town’s stunning Zion Episcopal Church, and at the heart of the Harper’s Ferry community, Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church.
The Winter Residency begins with Duo Delights on Dec. 27 once again showcasing the versatility and personality of the ACMF musicians as they present a holiday spread of classical and beloved holiday themed works, all enjoyed with a hot drink and a festive treat from Bolivar Bakery. At home in Harper’s Ferry on Dec. 28, our Holiday Highlights program will feature classic works from the festive season, with our beguiling ACMF take on some of your favorite seasonal works. Splendor and Brilliance on Dec. 30 presents Vaughan Williams’ Piano Quintet paired with a unique rendition of Beethoven’s Pathetique sonata, a work that brings warmth and hope to the frosty December night. We complete the festival on New Years’ Eve with Celebration of Togetherness, a reflection on 5 years of music making and meeting friends in the community, and together stepping forwards into the new year.
Tickets range from $28-$37 and a Festival Pass is available for $90 and includes three concerts: Holiday Highlights, Festive Brilliance and Celebration of Togetherness.
Students can attend for just $10 and under 18’s are free of charge.
