 News…

CLIFFTOP, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History (WVDACH) has made the decision to cancel the 2021 Appalachian String Band Music Festival. The five-day camping experience in the heart of West Virginia, which also includes music contests, arts and crafts, dancing and games for the whole family was set to take place July 28 – Aug 1, 2021 at Camp Washington-Carver, Clifftop, Fayette County.

As we continue to navigate the ongoing pandemic and determine safe ways to hold large events such as the String Band Festival, the WVDACH is committed to making the kind of decisions that ensure the safety of the public and our staff. We have continued to evaluate the possibilities of holding this event, and at this time this decision is one we feel is in everyone’s best interest.

The popular annual festival which draws thousands of string band musicians and fans from across the country and around the world for its concerts, dancing, workshops and contests will be rescheduled for 2022.
