SUMMARY:Vandalia Gathering
DESCRIPTION:The Vandalia Gathering brings together the finest traditional Appalachian musicians for a weekend of great picking. Elder statesmen and young upstarts perform on stage\, compete in contests and play in impromptu jam sessions all over the Capitol Complex. Visitors to the Gathering can enjoy fiddle\, banjo\, mandolin and guitar contests outside during the day\, and concerts in the State Theater in the evenings. Keep your ears open!

SUMMARY:2023 Vandalia Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Since 1977 the Vandalia Gathering has been taking place on the Capitol Grounds. Every Memorial Day Weekend people come from far and wide to experience the traditional culture of WV. Featuring multiple musical competitions\, a baking contest\, and the annual storytelling “Liar’s Contest”\, as well as over 30 West Virginia artisans and dancers (don’t forget the food!) There is something for everyone at the Vandalia Gathering.
