SUMMARY:Film Screening: Impossible Town
DESCRIPTION:IMPOSSIBLE TOWN follows the story of former State Health Officer Dr. Ayne Amjad who isthrust to the helm of a decades-long struggle to aid a southern West Virginia town beset bycancer-causing chemicals. The film explores the dual nature of trauma\, showing how loss canboth motivate people toward ambitious goals and simultaneously trap them in its grip\,preventing them from moving on.The film was captured primarily in Oak Hill\, Beckley\, and Charleston\, and marks the filmmakers’feature-length directorial debut. It had its world premiere at the 45th Mountainfilm Festival inTelluride and will screen at MTN Craft Film Festival in Clarksburg\, WV on Saturday\, September30th. The film has been supported by the International Documentary Association\, the RedfordCenter\, DOC NYC Industry Roundtables\, the Logan Nonfiction Fellowship\, and From the HeartProductions.Co-directors Meg Griffiths & Scott Faris said: “It has long been our dream to tell an honest\,nuanced\, and fundamentally human story about West Virginia\, a state that is too oftenmisunderstood and misrepresented in stories produced outside the state.
