SUMMARY:2023 Vandalia Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Since 1977 the Vandalia Gathering has been taking place on the Capitol Grounds. Every Memorial Day Weekend people come from far and wide to experience the traditional culture of WV. Featuring multiple musical competitions\, a baking contest\, and the annual storytelling “Liar’s Contest”\, as well as over 30 West Virginia artisans and dancers (don’t forget the food!) There is something for everyone at the Vandalia Gathering.

History\, music\, myth\, and lore are combined to evoke the spirit of Celtic legends.\n\nUnder the inspired leadership of director Tish Westman and her husband Greg\, this event showcases the incredible talents of musicians from across the country.\n\nThe symphony will take place at our Assembly Hall on May 8\, 2025\, at 7:00pm. SUMMARY:Tuesday Night - Capon Bridge Old Time Jam
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday Night Old Time Jams happen on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 6-8PM at The Cat and The Fiddle.\n\nFounded in Aug 2017 by Dakota Karper\, the Capon Bridge Old Time Jam is a jam welcoming old time musicians of all skill levels and backgrounds with the intention of creating a welcoming\, imaginative\, joyful and safe space to share music. Players\, Dancers and Listeners are all welcome. BYOB or your favorite drink of choice. Acoustic instruments only please!\n\nThe first Capon Bridge Old Time Jam took place on Aug 19\, 2017 at The River House and continued there until 2020 when it took a little break along with the rest of the world. In 2021 jams reformed and now take place on 2nd & 4th Tuesday at The Cat and The Fiddle.
