The child in all of us deserves wild adventure\, incredible story\, and the excitement of live theatre so close you can reach out and touch it. \n\n\n\nThe Barter Players perform at Barter Theatre in Abingdon April through December. Then\, during February and March\, The Players go on tour\, performing at schools all over the Eastern seaboard. Barter Players also tour around the nation every October through December.

DESCRIPTION:The Town of Bolivar is hosting its 2nd Annual Community Lantern Parade\, which coincides with Jefferson County’s ‘Frosty Fest.’ This year’s theme is “Woodland Wonders.” Come and be dazzled by sculptural paper lanterns that were created in a community arts project led by artist  and instructor Valeska Populoh and assistant Peter Redgrave. We welcome participation! We invite you to wear twinkle lights\, to carry your own paper lantern illuminated with LED lights\, to play an instrument or carry wind chimes. Participants will meet at the Harpers Ferry Middle School staff parking lot at 5:30 pm.\nThe Parade route will begin at the Harpers Ferry Middle School and progress down Washington Street to Harpers Ferry Town Hall\, looping back to the Bolivar Community Center for cider and cookies. \nThis project was in partnership with the Bolivar-Harpers Ferry Public Library and sponsored by Jefferson County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Jefferson Arts Council. This performance pays homage to the landscape of our state with Foggy Moon over the Gorge by West Virginia-based composer Matt Jackfert\, a work inspired by the natural beauty found in New River Gorge. In addition\, we welcome Utah Symphony Concertmaster Madeline Adkins to perform The Maze\, a tribute to the Canyonlands National Park in Utah. We will end the performance with Tchaikovsky’s beloved Symphony no. 4.
