DESCRIPTION:Join WV artist and author Rosalie Haizlett for a tour of her exhibition Tiny Worlds of the Appalachian Mountains and stick around to have her autograph your own copy of her illustrated book! Rosalie will talk about her creative process for creating the watercolor paintings that became her book manuscript\, as well as her six-month journey through the Appalachian Mountains and the development of her book from pen to publication. If you want a copy\, Taylor Books will be on hand selling Rosalie’s books including Tiny Worlds—just released on Sept. 1! \nThis program and accompanying exhibit are presented with support from the Bernard H. & Blanche E. Jacobson Foundation\, Charles & Mary Fayne Glotfelty Foundation\, Daywood Foundation\, Elliot Family Foundation\, Fund for the Arts\, and Herscher Foundation\, Inc. \nThe Clay Center’s performing and visual arts offerings are presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts\, Culture\, and History\, and the National Endowment for the Arts\, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts. \n\nThis exhibit is free with museum admission.

SUMMARY:River Road Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Atlanta Rythm Section will headline this year’s River Road Music Festival as a part of their 50th anniversary tour. ARS joins a line up that includes Appalachian Folk singer Micah Kesselring and West Virginia native and rising country singer Kate Boyteck.  The event benefits Historic Henderson Hall\, built in 1836 and now operated as a museum and event center  by the Museums of the Mid-Ohio Valley.

SUMMARY:Augusta Fiddler's Reunion
DESCRIPTION:A unique event\, the Augusta Fiddlers’ Reunion is a favorite of all who love old-time music. Scores of West Virginia’s master fiddlers\, pickers and singers gather\, along with hundreds of local folks and visitors for a day of fun\, packed with performances\, workshops\, jam sessions and a square dance in the evening.\n\n10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Fiddle Workshop with Tessa McCoy | Augusta Heritage Center Dance Hall (303 Davis Avenue\, Elkins\, WV 26241)\nLearn a fiddle tune and technique from the West Virginia State fiddle champion. This workshop is aimed at intermediate players\, but all levels are welcome if you are willing to follow the pace of the instructor. $20 admission\, $10 for students/Americorps\n\n11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: West Virginia Tune Workshop with Chance McCoy (open to all instruments) | Augusta Heritage Center Dance Hall (303 Davis Avenue\, Elkins\, WV 26241)\nBring an instrument and learn a tune from Chance McCoy\, who is originally from the Eastern Panhandle and has toured the world with Old Crow Medicine Show and other bands. This workshop is aimed at intermediate players\, but all levels are welcome if you are willing to follow the pace of the instructor. $20 admission\, $10 for students/Americorps\n\n11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Fiddler Showcase | Elkins Town Square Amphitheater\nThis showcase will consist of 20-minute sets from West Virginia fiddlers. Some of the featured players will be: Mack Samples\, Joe Herrmann\, Jenny Allinder\, Jimmy Costa\, Mary Linscheid\, Bobby Taylor\, John Morris\, Bob Smakula\, Andy Fitzgibbon\, Jesse Milnes\, Gerry Milnes\, Tessa McCoy\, Chance McCoy. The final schedule of players will be announced here prior to the event. Free and open to the public.\n\n5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Youth Old-Time Music Showcase | Elkins Town Square Amphitheater\nThis showcase will feature players aged 17 and younger from around the state\, including players from our Augusta Strings Program. Free and open to the public.\n\n7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: Square Dance | Randolph County Community Arts Center \nCalling by Mack Samples; Music by Jesse Milnes & Friends. $10 admission\, $5 for students/Americorps
